Purpose & Services

Science has never been more important to society, yet it has never been harder to deliver sustainable STEM engagement - due to changing economics, working culture, and many other factors.

The purpose of REC is to bring my commercial outlook to bear on the delivery of creative, innovative, impactful STEM engagement - with the aim of helping institutions achieve financial sustainability and enhancing their agility and resilience, so they can weather the challenges ahead.

I specialise in four very specific methods of doing this, based on 30 years of experience - including 15 years delivering growth in an economic climate of recession, austerity, and funding cuts.

MY SERVICES IN DETAIL

Income Diversification

I can help you to develop creative ways to generate income through STEM centred activity, making you less vulnerable to shifts in the economic landscape and supporting growth. By focusing on scalability, REC can help create a portfolio of activity that allows you to expand in one area in response to a planned or unplanned decline in another, promoting agility and resilience, enabling you to engage new audiences, stakeholders and funders.

Learning Facilities

I can help you to develop learning facilities that meet your STEM engagement needs while offering smart commercial versatility and functionality - including workshop spaces, science show theatres, planetarium facilities, VR experiences, and temporary exhibition spaces for image based, immersive or hybrid exhibitions. REC can help you to develop comprehensive briefs for valuation, funding raising, and tendering, incorporating long term maintenance.

Skill Pipelines

I can help you to develop staff structures and skill pipelines that support growth, recruitment, staff development, skill retention, wellbeing, and business continuity. REC favours approaches that may blur the boundary between your audience and your recruitment pool, promoting community engagement and lifelong learning, and simultaneously providing you with the passion, subject expertise, and communication skills and that you need.

Strategy

I can help you develop a clear, concise, inspiring strategy - providing focus, coherency and motivation for a team or organisation. As well as providing a shared direction, such a strategy can also provide a valuable framework for decision making. By tapping into your organisations unique angle on STEM engagement, REC can help you develop a strategy prioritising the STEM issues, subjects and stakeholders most important to your institution.
